The Raleigh Baptist Association is excited to sponsor a Baptist Day of Service. There are opportunities for all ages to participate. We will be using 5 churches as our host sites throughout Wake County. Each of the 5 churches will host volunteers from surrounding churches, each church doing the same 5 community service projects, 4 projects at the host church, and 1 project (Habitat) in the community.
Raleigh Baptist Association State Fair Ministry along with the Campers on Mission provides daily meals, hygiene items and ministers to the carnival workers during their stay at the NC State Fair. We will be collecting the following food and hygiene items at each site. We will need volunteers at each site to sort and box these items:
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
State Fair Food Items: Canned Potatoes, Sweet Sue Brand Chicken & Dumplings; Cream of Potato Soup, Cream of Celery Soup, Baked Beans, Canned Mixed vegetables, Chili and Beans, Canned Chicken, Lima Beans, Corn, Black Beans, Southwestern Chicken Tortilla Soup, Creamy Peanut Butter and Grape Jam, Beef Stew (Dinty Moore, Great Value or Armour only).
Note in the Pocket is a non-profit organization that provides quality clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families with dignity and love. We will be collecting new and very gently used clothing for children.
>> Volunteers will be needed at each site to help sort the clothing and prepare it to be delivered to Note in the Pocket.
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Welcome House provides a hospitality ministry to our vulnerable neighbors across the state, including Afghans and Ukrainians. We will be collecting and sorting household goods such as paper products, cleaning supplies, towels, sheets, etc. to be used by those served by the Welcome House.
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Habitat for Humanity is a Christian organization that seeks to put God’s love into action by helping build affordable housing. We will have the opportunity to help build on this day. This will be an off site project.
